Claressa Shields vs. Franchón Crews-Dezurn 2 went down this past Sunday at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. This fight had everything you could want: a story, controversy, and a spectacle that had to be seen to be believed. Having already met in their pro debuts, these women faced each other again 10 years later. Claressa was victorious that night, and both ladies went on to become world champions.

Heading into the rematch, Franchón embraced the underdog role, but as she told us in our interview, she planned to show the world what Franchón Crews-Dezurn could do. Claressa, meanwhile, was determined to once again prove why she is the GWOAT. From the entrances to the way the city showed up, to the performance from Boosie, the Motor City was lit and full of mink coats.

Savanna Tini vs. Vaida Masiokaite

Savanna Tini faced a step up in competition against Vaida Masiokaite, who had previously fought Sammy Worthington, the defending WBA Super Lightweight champion. Tini did her best work on the inside, where she was most effective. Although her opponent tried to make the fight gritty, Tini secured the decision victory.

Jasmine Hampton vs. Vazquez

Jasmine Hampton, fighting out of Superbad, returned to the ring after her big debut win at the Fox Theatre. This time, she faced a 12-fight veteran in Vazquez. Hampton looked like a ring general, picking her shots and doing damage early. She also showed great poise while engaging, demonstrating the true art of the sweet science by hitting and not getting hit on her way to a fifth-round stoppage.

Lance “Boogie” Smith vs. Vizcarrondo

Lance Smith returned to the big stage and put on a show. After starting a bit slow and counterpunching, he turned it up in round three, overwhelming his opponent on the way to a TKO finish.

Pryce Taylor vs. James Evans

Pryce Taylor returned as well, and the 10-0 prospect showed great poise in the ring. He was selective with his shots, landing effectively while avoiding damage from his taller opponent. Taylor even appeared to be enjoying himself, clowning his opponent at times. He turned up the heat in round four with vicious body shots that opened up a hook, sending Evans to the floor before dancing back to his corner. Taylor didn’t let up, coming out with a barrage of punches and stopping his opponent early in round five.

Perkins vs. Kenneally

This was my show-stealer heading into fight night. I was really impressed with Danielle Perkins in her fight against Claressa Shields, and I fully expected her to use her range. Instead, she showed the grit she had in her. The tension started early at the weigh-in, with pushing and shoving that caused a wardrobe malfunction.

Being new to Che Kenneally, she won me over after our chat and explaining the meaning behind her fight name. Both ladies came out throwing, although Che appeared to be the better counter striker. Perkins’ footwork was highly unorthodox, making it difficult for Che to get a read on her and allowing Perkins to land effectively.

Perkins closed the show with a huge knockout, splitting Che’s lip wide open. It was a great fight.

Atif Oberlton vs. Joe George Jr.

This looked to be a promising co-main event, but after a clash of heads, George Jr. collapsed on his stool between rounds, forcing the fight to be stopped. Thankfully, he was able to get up and leave the ring under his own power. Credit to Atif as well for showing great sportsmanship toward his fallen opponent.

Main Event: Claressa Shields vs. Franchón Crews-Dezurn 2

In a rematch 10 years in the making, and with emotions already explosive following the brawl at the weigh-in, the main event brought electricity to Little Caesars Arena. The fight started exactly where the weigh-in left off, with both women meeting in the center and throwing heavy shots.

As the fight progressed, Shields showed her superior skill and took advantage of Franchón’s gas tank, which appeared to fade in the later rounds.

In my estimation, this was one of the most entertaining build-ups and performances from Shields since her fight with Perkins. With Perkins scoring a major knockout earlier in the night, a rematch between Shields and Perkins could be next.

World Championship returned to the Motor City headlined by one of Detroit Boxing’s favorite sons Tony Harrison and the highly anticipated rematch between Kaye Scott and Olivia Curry for the WBA and WBC middleweight championships.

Olivia Curry Interview

We had the pleasure of talking with Dmitriy Salita, Tony Harrison and Olivia Curry prior to fight night. In our chat with Dmitriy Salita he spoke about what it meant to him to continue to bring big stakes back to the City of Detroit. He once again delivered as promised Saturday night from the world famous Fox Theater. In what was a fight of the year candidate when they met earlier this year in the same building Kaye Scott and Olivia Curry followed up on that again Saturday Night.

In speaking with us on Knockouts and 3 Counts Olivia Curry said how disappointed she was with the result of the first fight and how both she and Scott were completely down for an immediate rematch to have a clear winner. We ended up with a new champion in Kaye Scott via Unanimous Decision although we ALMOST could’ve had another repeat performance as one of the judges had it scored 95-95. Curry lived up to what she said she would on the show definitely looking to be more aggressive earlier in the fight although the decision went the other way. Scott looks like she can definitely be a star in the world of Women’s Boxing with her look and willingness to bang coming to us from down under in Australia.

The night was co headlined by former World Champion Tony Harrison in the second fight of his comeback. When we spoke with him on Knockouts and 3 Counts Tony spoke of the confidence he had in his team and it didn’t matter who the opponent was due to the confidence he had in the preparation he and his brother LJ Harrison and team at Superbad Boxing had put in. Not out of disrespect to his opponent Brian Chaves but as he said “If I do what I’m capable of doing the rest will fall in place. ” That played out in the fights Tony scored 3 knockdowns on his way to a TKO finish in round 4. He faced some adversity early but truly seems to be sharpening his tools for this run in the heat of battle fight by fight. Claressa Shields and Papoose were also in the corner of Harrison on fight night. This comes as no surprise as Tony said that he’s “Claressa’s biggest fan as she is his.” and what it mean for both to put on a show in Detroit and put on for the city.

Tony Harrison Interview

The night also included a list up and coming talent as well. We started the night with light heavyweights as Antwan Jones took on Javier Gonzalez. Jones an up and coming guy out of Toledo OH is no stranger to Detroit Boxing fans having fought at the Motor City Casino for Clip promotions as well. Jones showed the superior skill and looked comfortable in the ring even sticking his tongue out at his opponent at one point. He proved to be too much for his opponent as he couldn’t answer the bell after round 4.

Next up we saw Middleweights Davante Shumate and George Sosa. Both men came out swinging in this 4 round affair as both men landed as both men had their moments in a shoot out. They may have picked the wrong veteran Sosa was in Shumate’s face the whole fight as it looked as though the 4 rounds played in to Sosa’s favor. Davante Shumate had BIG power he just seemed to fade a little bit later on. If he had pressed a little more later on in the fight we definitely could’ve had a different outcome. Entertaining fight as Sosa earned a hard fought victory using every trick in the book headbutt and all. The cleaner shots seemed to be on the side of Shumate as the volume was in the corner of Sosa.

Next we saw a true Showcase for Garrett Rice in his pro debut for as long as it lasted. Rice showed great speed, relentless pressure and what stood out to me the most worked the WHOLE body of Andrew Scott. Dmitriy Salita said he was super excited to have signed Rice and we can see why.

Dmitriy Salita Interview

Kahmel Makled returned to the ring and didn’t disappoint. Makled squared off with Tony Hernandez out of Kansas City Missouri. This guy always seems to have a big support system which along with his fight style will make him attractive to printers and fight fans alike. He displayed nasty body work and heavy shots through out the fight along with good footwork. He cruised to a unanimous decision victory and I think is ready for a step up and if he puts his foot on the gas can be a finisher at light heavyweight.

Husam Al Mashadi was cerebral out there against his opponent William Jackson. He landed a misdirection overhook it looked like that would be mad the great Roy Jones Jr. smile that resulted in a knockdown. What was the real calling card was his body work this kid needs to be called the body snatcher as that was what ended his night.

Next up we got to see the return of Cameran Pankey out of Pontiac. As my co host J Bone talked about on Knockouts and 3 Counts, Pankey had quite the crowd for him as well. While it took him a minute to get started in the early going of the fight as his opponent Damian Alcala threw everything but the kitchen sink at Pankey. Cameran put on a full boxing display from his defense, to his beautiful bodywork and his fire fight kit.

The bigger they are the harder they fall, at least that was the case for Sardius Simmons as he knocked down and out a redwood in Colby Madison early in round 1.

We also saw the return of heavyweight Pryce Taylor as he took on Michael Coffie. When he’s putting combos together Taylor is a big problem for heavyweights. This fight was a slugfest though as Coffie held his own in there. Taylor will be dangerous as he develops more of that Killer instinct through his career.

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships mad it’s long awaited debut in Michigan Saturday night, emanating from the beautiful Soaring Eagle Casino in Mount Pleasant Michigan. Michigan fighters and fans quickly showed BKFC and David Feldman that this is a place they need to be and DID NOT DISAPPOINT.

First Michigan fighter to make waves on the night was P Dot Parris Boyd who had a stellar debut and stops his opponent EARLY in round 1 in maybe his best performance I’ve seen. Having called some of his MMA fights previously, I truly felt like THIS is the sport for him. It’s great to see Michigan fighters come together to prepare as he trained with Mike Hernandez for the fight who also had a star making performance.

Mike Hernandez returned to the ring after a 7 lay off rejuvenated and fueled by his faith. An 11-4 pro in MMA Hernandez is no stranger to the ring despite his time off. One thing that hasn’t changed in that his intensity is undeniable you can see the heat between he and his opponent Castillo. Hernandez lived up to the “Hurricane” moniker as his in and out movement and relentless pressure overwhelmed Castillo resulting in a second rd TKO due to a NASTY CUT.

Mike stole the show with his post fight speech where he spoke about his journey back to the ring defeating addiction and dedicating the fight to his father Raymond Hernandez. Even the Notorious Conor McGregor took to social media to say his father’s name and congratulate him on his performance.

Justin “The Nightmare” Street knows what he’s fighting for he’s fighting for milk in a quote from “Cinderella Man”. Street had good counterpunching damaging opponent in round 1. Streets boxing was the difference but his opponents pressure style is made this a dog fight and in my estimation fight of the night. The body shots down the stretch made the difference in my opinion getting street a Unanimous decision victory through his renewed focus.

Eric El Travieso Lozano returned to the BKFC ring and threw everything but the kitchen sink at Tylor Sijohn scoring 5 knockdowns leading to a unanimous decision victory. Lozano had great use of the Thai clung and dirty boxing in close. After the fight he said he wants a top 5 opponent with a full camp would like to fight Jay Jackson.

Detroit Native Joseph Creer returns to Michigan and puts on a show repping the Detroit Lions pride with his gear ! Creer had a knockdown in the first round with beautiful use of the whizzer landing shots in the clinch. Hen then went on to score a 2nd knockdown via a nasty right hook and a finish after a 3rd knockdown in the 2nd.

The Rivera Era is for real ! Clean boxing and explosive power from Nathan Rivera stopping former title challenger Tommy Strydom breaking his jaw. Rivera was also entertaining in the post fight channeling his inner pro wrestler with a good promo and calls out Edgard Plazaola says he’s running.

Last but certainly not least a star is made by blood ! Esteban Rodriguez meets Zac Cavender in the center and the threw down both men cut and stops him in the first. As he said speaking to us on Knockouts and 3 Counts that this is only the beginning saying “he’s only just getting started and there’s NOTHING you can do to stop it.” BKFC president David Feldman says “we have a new star in the BKFC and his name is Esteban Rodriguez.” After last night’s performance Rodriguez could be eying the Cruiserweight title along with the tournament coming up as he talked about on the show.

Having been around fights for 20 years Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships are some of the craziest fights I’ve ever seen hands down. From the amount of finishes to the carnage inside the ring and overall energy BKFC is must see !

Thanks to BKFC for having us! Check out our full coverage and chat with Esteban Rodriguez on Knockouts and 3 Counts and Bodyslam.net!

Cody and Mando are two of the most well known Michigan fighters in recent years and both fighters opened up about what it means to them to be fighting in the mitten again . Mando coming off an impressive run for PFL in which he opened a lot of eyes and a previous stint on The Ultimate Fighter said “I love fighting at home and I’m not trying to sit around and wait till the next PFL tournament . I love how PFL treats me and that he has a good relationship with them but is completely focused on the man in front of him . For Stamann, it was different “Fighting at home was a humbling experience after fighting in the UFC until I saw the excitement from my friends family and fans about fighting back in Michigan.”

Cody will be stepping in to the cage against a familiar foe on October 25th as he faces off with Shawn Tarlton (5-3) who squared off with his teammate and past guest of the show Chad Decker. There was a lot of heat headed in to that fight from both sides . When I asked Cody if that was any motivation he had this to say “He was the first guy to say yes and his fans were super disrespectful when he fought Chad one even spot his drink on me on the way to the cage I thought I was gonna go to jail after the fight . The way the fans rock with their fighter is what makes Michigan MMA great I’m gonna remind everyone I’m the man and I can scrap not too many that have came out of Michigan and were ranked in the top ten in the UFC .”

Mando had an opponent change and now will be facing undefeated prospect Ezequiel Peralta coming to us from the Dominican Republic. I asked Mando what kept his fire lit to wanna take this fight against an unknown after his run in PFL. “My hard work and work ethic came long before mma . My parents are the hardest working people I know . That blue collar work ethic doesn’t change just because I get punched in the face for a living . All the training is everyday work and it’s all for 15-25 mins in the cage .”

Both men are returning home to remind anyone inn Michigan and around the world just who they are and the reason why places like the UFC and PFL took chances on kids from the mitten . Cody cut straight to the chase saying “This can’t be a close fight it needs to be a one sided fight and if I’m not walking over him I won’t be satisfied . My fire has been re lit and I’m ready to make a statement .”

Boxing returned to the historic Fox Theater in Detroit, Michigan, Friday night for the first time since June 10, 2000. The card included former World Champion Ricky Hatton. Fittingly, before the main event aired on DAZN, we honored his legacy with the famed 10-bell salute—because truly, there was only one Ricky Hatton.

The night featured a mix of up-and-coming prospects and seasoned veterans throughout the card. One fighter who caught my eye right away was Jasmine Hampton. She kicked things off with her highly anticipated professional debut after a stellar amateur career. Hampton wasted no time, dispatching her opponent in under two minutes and not even giving her a chance to settle into the fight. With her alignment to Detroit’s own Tony and LJ Harrison and Team Superbad, she’s clearly going to be a force.

Next up was Khamel Makled out of New Way Boxing. His jab was sharp and the key to much of his offense. He scored a unanimous decision victory to remain undefeated. If he can keep his output consistent, he’ll continue to be an exciting fighter to watch. It was also great to see the strong support he had from the local crowd.

Savannah Tini was another standout of the night. Don’t get her name wrong—she’ll make you pay for it. Tini dominated her opponent, Michaele Nouge, showcasing excellent footwork and angles. She forced multiple knockdowns, going full throttle until the end and moving to 6-0. In our chat on Knockouts and 3 Counts, she spoke about her mission “to inspire women through her fights.” With a performance like that, she’s certainly on her way to doing so.

Sardius Simmons also impressed, moving to 4-0 with a unanimous decision over Lemir Isom Riley. Riley tested him at points, but Simmons showed grit and athleticism, turning it up when it mattered to secure the win.

Another fighter who left a lasting impression was Da’Velle Smith. I first saw him on the Claressa Shields card at Little Caesars Arena, and his raw talent stood out even then. Trained by Detroit legend SugarHill Steward, it’s no surprise he continues to shine. Smith was simply too skilled for his opponent, earning a second-round TKO. His crisp boxing, ability to control distance, and powerful counters—especially his straight right hand—were a masterclass in execution.

The night also featured a real treat: a WBA and WBC Women’s Middleweight Championship fight between Kaye Scott of Australia and Olivia Curry from Chicago. Though the bout ended in a draw, it was arguably the fight of the night. Scott, with just five fights under her belt, pushed Curry early and showed she belonged on this stage. A mid-fight headbutt caused a cut on Curry, but she fought through it with grit, dominating the later rounds with punishing body work. While the judges called it even, I personally had Scott edging it out. Regardless, both women put on a tremendous show, and a rematch would be a must-watch.

Finally, the main event featured heavyweights Brandon Moore of Polk County, Florida, and Flint’s own Deandre Savage. Moore had recently dropped 30 pounds, which was evident in his movement and stamina. Savage, an imposing 293 pounds with a 10-0 record, was a big test. However, Moore’s speed, combinations, and footwork carried the fight. He dropped Savage in the seventh round and earned a unanimous decision victory. Afterward, he called out heavyweight star Anthony Joshua—a bold move, but one that could lead to an exciting clash.

Overall, it was a fantastic night of fights put on by Salita Promotions—one you won’t want to miss the next time they’re in the Mitten.

Detroit was electric last night as Game Changer Wrestling returned to the Motor City. Once again emanating from the iconic Harpos Concert Theatre, the event added another chapter to the venue’s storied history.

Uncle Chase Burnett vs. Tre Lamar vs. Kj Orso vs. Brayden Toon vs. Gary Jay

We kicked off the night with a scramble match that was, to quote Hall of Famer Bully Ray, pure “Detroit Rock City.”
Past guest of the show Uncle Chase stole the spotlight, showcasing his ring rope wizardry. Don’t let his veteran presence fool you—he had the whole crowd chanting his name by the end. This was also my first time seeing “Kj Orso,” formerly Fuego Del Sol, and I was blown away. His style has evolved, but his star power remains, and he pulled out the victory. Even in defeat, Uncle Chase reminded Michigan and GCW fans that he’s not to be slept on.

Me and Uncle Chase

Mance Warner vs. Beastman

Ole Mancer had a BIG challenge in past guest Beastman. Mance has been on a tear since his shocking arrival in TNA, and last night was no different. Beastman proved that size matters as they brawled all over Harpos, with the crowd chanting “HUSK!” Ultimately, Mancer’s trusty staple gun was the great equalizer, sealing his victory.

Shotzi vs. Megan Bayne

Next up was a standout clash between Shotzi and AEW’s Megan Bayne. Shotzi has been setting the indies on fire since leaving WWE, and while her feud with Matt Cardona has made headlines, this was all about her battle with the “Megasus.”
Shotzi looked sharp and genuinely seemed to be enjoying herself. Megan Bayne, meanwhile, continues to impress—her power, capped off by a Liger Bomb tribute to the legendary Jushin Thunder Liger, secured the win. Bayne could very well be one of the next breakout stars in women’s wrestling.

Megan Bayne and Shotzi

One Called Manders vs. Dominic Garrini

One thing GCW nails is entrance music—it’s always got ECW vibes. Manders came out to Bon Jovi’s “Wanted Dead or Alive,” and the Detroit crowd sang along. Garrini’s “Zombie” by The Cranberries was cut short, but these two made up for it by beating the brakes off each other. Manders ultimately picked up the victory.

The Cogars vs. The Bev & Matt Tremont

Open the pit and start throwing chairs—this one was chaos. Former 44OH! members Otis and Atticus Cogar battled Matt Tremont and past guest Bobby Beverly. With so much history among them, the match felt personal. Tremont’s “Separate Ways” entrance added extra hype.
I really enjoyed the new team of Beverly and Tremont—hopefully we’ll talk to them soon on Knockouts and 3 Counts. The Cogars scored the win thanks to Christian Napier, who hit one of the wildest dives I’ve ever seen. Prayers up for him after that gnarly bump! Post-match, Slade and Charles Mason jumped the Cogars, setting up more chaos to come.

Tremont and the Bev

Dr. Redacted vs. Crazy King

Dr. Redacted has been carving his name into the deathmatch scene worldwide, and his showdown with Crazy King was as insane as expected. Light tubes were in abundance, with Redacted smashing at least 10 across his opponent before finishing with a dragon sleeper and a bag over Crazy King’s head. Brutal, but afterward it felt like these two had earned each other’s respect—the thought of them teaming up is terrifying.

Four-Way Tag Match: Effy & Gringo Loco vs. Bang & Matthews vs. Boisterous Behavior (Leon Slater & Man Like DeReiss) vs. Joey Janela & Marcus Mathers

Boisterous Behavior lit up Harpos with their entrance alone! Seeing Leon Slater, the youngest TNA X Division Champion, in tag action was a treat—gravity clearly doesn’t apply to him. The match even broke into a mid-ring dance-off until Joey Janela reminded everyone what was at stake.
Gringo Loco’s original partner, Arez, was sidelined with injury, so Effy stepped in. Together, they went wild, including a huge dive from Gringo, and picked up the win.
Post-match, Janela paid tribute to Jakka and Sabu, with Sabu’s family in attendance as “Hoka Blues” played one last time through Harpos.

GCW & JCW Tag Title Riddle Box Match: Alec Price & Jordan Oliver (YDNP) vs. The Brothers of Funstruction (Ruffo & Yabo the Clown)

The long-running war between GCW and Juggalo Championship Wrestling came to a head. YDNP looked cohesive as ever, reminding me of TNA’s Rascalz, but the Brothers of Funstruction thrived in their element.
The riddle box stipulation filled the ring with clown-friendly weapons—juggling pins, balloons, fire extinguishers, and more. In the end, Ruffo and Yabo reclaimed the belts for JCW. Curious to see how Oliver and Price respond—watch out for the clown horn!

YDNP

Main Event: The Pillars (MM3 & Tommy Vendetta) vs. The Rejects (Reed Bentley & John Wayne Murdoch)

We closed with a deathmatch war. The Rejects brought experience, but Monroe and Vendetta proved why they’re rising names worldwide. The fight spilled into the crowd with two cans full of light tubes ensuring carnage.
Though the Rejects took the win, they praised the Pillars on the mic, calling them a “real deathmatch tag team” and saying they’d fight them any day of the week. A doomsday Detroit Destroyer ended the show in fitting fashion.

The Pillars and The Rejects

Detroit showed out big, and based on the energy, GCW’s return to the Motor City can’t come soon enough.

Massive thanks to Game Changer Wrestling for having us.

David Meyers, aka Dave Fio, was a contestant on Season 24 of the hit series American Idol. “Fio,” which stands for “Figure It Out,” accurately describes Dave’s journey—not only to weight loss but also to finding himself. Dave told us while speaking on Knockouts and 3 Counts:

“I lost motivation after being let go from American Idol, 120 pounds into my weight loss journey, and started 75 Hard. My friend Phil of Mitten Muay Thai and MMT Gym reached out to help me and said how it could help me and give a little exposure for the new gym.”

As he began his journey learning the art of Muay Thai kickboxing under the tutelage of Nick Bismarck and Phil Saponaro, Dave quickly learned that Muay Thai will “bring the bitch out of you.” Dave went on to say that the “zero-excuse policy and hard rounds he got at MMT Gym were why he shined in the ring” at MMT 006.

Credit: Andrew McLeod

When I asked his biggest takeaways from the fight, he said the biggest was comfort—specifically how it silenced the “what ifs”:

“What if nothing? We got in the ring and we did it. The walk to the ring is 90 percent of it.”

His other big takeaway was what it did for his mentality, because to Meyers, there was no other option:

“The only way to win a fight is to be ready to kill, ready to die.”

He also had a message for keyboard warriors and “street-fighting specialists” of the world:

Dave went on to speak about his friend Dakota Luna, a pro wrestling promoter in the Downriver area who recently passed after a long battle with leukemia.
The Motor City was electric last night as two of Michigan’s finest in the boxing world, Claressa Shields and Tony Harrison, returned to the ring. Leading into the fight, both fighters delivered similar messages—though from different ends of the spectrum. For Shields, it was about reminding the world and solidifying her status as “The GWOAT.” Tony Harrison, returning to the ring after a two-year layoff, set out to remind everyone why he’s “SuperBad.”

Both fighters made entrances befitting their superstar status—Tony was led to the ring by Icewear Vezzo, and Claressa by “The Boss” Rick Ross. With over 15,000 fans in attendance at Little Caesars Arena, it was truly a sight to behold.

As for their opponents—both underdogs with something to prove—the fights played out very differently. Edward Diaz (15-6) came out with the intent to shock the world. He gave Tony a real reminder of what it feels like to be in a fight. Early on, Tony showed some expected ring rust after his long layoff, but once he found his groove, his jab became the key to victory. His boxing began to resemble the Tony of old. However, in the 9th round, Diaz dropped Tony, changing the complexion of the fight. In my estimation, it was a good test for Tony—it shook off the ring rust, and I expect an even sharper version of SuperBad next time out.

Claressa squared off with “The Smiling Assassin,” Lani Daniels, the IBF Light Heavyweight Champion in her own right. Due to the lack of star power in her opposition, Claressa faced a much older veteran in Daniels. From the outset, Shields showed she was far superior in skill. Lani, for much of the fight, seemed more focused on making it to the final bell than on risking it all for the win. That said, she picked up the pace in the final three rounds, and had she done that earlier, it might have made for a more entertaining bout. You could tell Daniels had some power, but as a former fighter myself, I understand that some nights just aren’t your night—and that’s okay. Still, it felt like Lani was simply happy to be there, rather than fighting to win. Claressa once again demonstrated that there are levels to this game—and why she’s at the very top.

Now to the elephant in the room: Laila Ali. The former world champion and daughter of Muhammad Ali previously stated she’d fight Shields—but it would take $15–20 million to make it happen. According to reports from TMZ and Salita Promotions, that fight may indeed be on the table. What made things even more intriguing was that Muhammad Ali’s wife was in attendance at the post-fight press conference and said, “She told Laila to stay in the kitchen. I’m with you, GWOAT.” Claressa also noted after the fight that this might be her last bout with Salita Promotions. The career of Claressa Shields continues to captivate, and only time will tell who will step up to face the GWOAT next—especially as she mentioned she may be planning to have a child soon.

All in all, it was great to see championship boxing back in Detroit, and the ladies truly showed out!

I also want to give a shoutout to a past guest of the show, Sammy “The Heat” Worthington, who became the WBA Super Lightweight Champion by defeating Victorie Piteau via decision. This was her toughest test yet—and she turned up the Heat!

Also, Canada’s Caroline Veyre became the WBC Silver Featherweight Champion with a dominant performance over Licia Boudersa, winning by a dominant 10-round decision. Once she found her range, Caroline displayed stopping power, freezing Licia in her tracks and leaving her visibly marked by the end. Looking forward to seeing what’s next for Caroline!

July 26th World Championship Boxing will indeed return to Detroit, as Claressa Shields will square off against Lani Daniels . The Co Main event of this card lacks no fire power either as former World Champion Tony “SuperBad” Harrison will take on Eduardo Diaz .

The fight takes place LIVE from the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit Mi which was also the backdrop for today’s fight week press conference .

It was really refreshing to see the joy in Sheilds’ face as she not only hyped up her fight but also fighting alongside someone she looks up too in Tony Harrison. This event has seemed to bring in the fan fare as well as Claressa also talked about the 15k tickets sold for her fight .

As far as their opponents Claressa and Tony both spoke highly of their opponents saying “with no opponent we can’t put on a show.” That said they both reminded us that “there’s still asses to be beat.” Shields went on to talk about how she and her team were well aware that Daniels wasn’t coming from New Zealand to lose and the danger she presents . Daniels was very grateful for the opportunity and to have her family here on such a big stage and that she’d planned to make her family and country proud .

I was also able to ask Tony Harrison “What this chapter of his career would be named ?” Tony said “The Gentleman” , stating that

“I was an ass***e for a lot of my early years and that the amount of talk he was doing wasn’t adding up to him .” He went on to say “My goal in Boxing was to be World Champion and I did that by beating the guy they said was the baddest in my division . “ This Time I’m gonna let my hands do the talking, run the bag up and get another World Championship when they said I can’t .”

I also got to speak to Claressa about how good it felt to get back to boxing after all of the Drug Test controversy. She said she was glad I asked that because she and Salita both hoped that this would open more eyes to the issues with the swab testing in Michigan . Saying Joe Hicks had the same issue and that Jasmine Hampton was dealing with something similar . This issue is a problem clear down to the amateur ranks of mma fighters and boxers in Michigan, with fighters being sidelined for such little amounts of thc in their systems.

The GWOAT and SuperBad are bringing the musical power and performance as well being played out to the Ring by Detroits own Icewear Vezzo and Claressa by “The Boss” Rick Ross ! July 26th will be a night that you don’t wanna miss with past guest of the show Sammy “The Heat” Worthington fighting for the interim WBA title as well ! Stay tuned for more coverage!

TNA Slammiversay emanated last night from the UBS Arena in Long Island New York. A company who’s been on the rise for quite some time, has now possibly taken that next step. Since partnering with WWE the unpredictability of who could show up where and who could face who has kept fans on the edge of their seats. Last night proved that as it is the biggest attendance in TNA history with 7,623 what could this show mean for the future of TNA?

Mustafa Ali defeats Cedric Alexander

Cedric Alexander made his shocking return to TNA to confront his old Rival Mustafa Ali on what looked like behalf of Order 4. In speaking with us on Knockouts and 3 Counts prior to his arrival in TNA he said facing his rival was on top of his post WWE hit list.

The match lived up to the hype and was a MOTY candidate even with the interference of Order 4 members Tasha Steelz, and the Good Hands. The finish with the Lunbar check to 450 Splash was insane ! NEED TO SEE THIS AGAIN!

They System and Matt Cardona DEF Darkstate

Matt Cardona called on an old friend and tag partner for help when he was attacked on TNA Impact, teaming up with former partner Brian Meyers and The System. The young and brash group Darkstate proved to be a game and unorthodox opponent. While they won it has me wondering if the emergence of Cardona could lead to the implosion of the system or maybe a face turn?

Indi Hartwell DEF Tessa Blanchard

Great performance for Indi Hartwell, and Tessa Blanchard shows that she’s one of the best in the world but with the sins of her past haunt her forever as she was largely booed. Indi proved she belongs in there with Tessa as this was their second encounter and the beatdown post match of Gia Miller kept Tessa heated up. Will we see Gia in the ring?

Jacy Jayne DEF Masha Slamavich

What a moment for Jacy Jayne being someone who was thought to have possibly been a transitional champion to being TNA AND NXT champion. This would set an interesting precedent as now a WWE wrestler had control of BOTH TNA World Championships. Masha I think could end up in WWE at some point as well fun match.

Leon Slater DEF Moose

This match had a lot riding on it for both competitors as If Moose won, he’s the longest reigning X division Champion passing Austin Aries. Leon Slater would become the youngest X Division champion in TNA History. With that title always being billed as being about “No Limits “ it certainly lived up to it. Moose is one of the best but most underrated wrestlers today between his uncanny athleticism and overall presence in the ring. Leon Slater truly is this generations Jeff Hardy with his creativity being showcased with dive over post, and hurricanrana to the floor this kid is EXCITING !The endorsement of AJ Styles and saying he is “what makes guys like him love wrestling “ may have been the cherry on top for Slater growing up a TNA kid he is truly the future of the x division.

The Hardys DEF First Class The Rascalz and The Nemeths

This match lived up to the moniker Card Subject to Change with Trey Miguel being sidelined due to a Hernia Surgery. Stepping in his place would be past guest of the show Myron Reed. Reed showed out with his Flame on Cutter to the floor showing people why he’s called the “Young Goat”.

First Class Past guest of the show AJ Francis had some major highlights as well with the big moonsault by AJ proving how athletic of a big man he is and the NASTY bump through the ladders. Definitely a team on the rise in my opinion.

The Hardys once again prove why they’re timeless. Constantly innovative and in this match doing so with the use of a helicopter ladder to win the titles.

Bubba Dudley returned to TNA to challenge The Hardy’s to one last match at Bound for Glory

Trick Williams DEF Mike Santana and Joe Hendry

Mikey Santana has been on fire headed in to this event with his appliances on NXT programming and the run he’s been on in TNA. Originally being a tag team guy with Ortiz, and part of LAX being an OG fan of TNA this is dope to see. With him and Joe Hendry flying the flag for TNA I was sure one of them would come out victorious at Slammiversary. Trick managed to keep the title meaning that now both TNA World Championships are with WWE superstars in Trick Williams and Jacy Jane. While many may say that this could look similar to TNA’s partnership with AEW, I’ve enjoyed it so far and feel they’re gearing up for big moment at Bound for Glory in October for TNA. Only time will tell.
